ELaiolithos Restaurant is open to both resident guests and outside visitors looking to experience a unique Eco-Luxury Farm-to-Table Ecosystem. Here, food begins with people and place.
Set high above the island, dining here combines authentic Naxian flavors with breathtaking, panoramic views stretching across mountains, valleys, traditional villages, and the distant Aegean Sea.
On most of Naxos, “local” means from the island.
At ELaiolithos, “local” means from the hills you see right from your table.
Operating on a strict 5-Kilometer Model, our restaurant is a vibrant showcase of a unified family synergy. From our estate’s extra virgin olive oil and artisanal mountain cheeses handcrafted by the owner’s brother, to the local wines, hand-picked wild herbs, and fresh produce sourced from our siblings’ independent farms, everything honors a zero-waste, circular philosophy.
This is not simply farm-to-table dining. It is a deeply personal connection between the land and the people behind every ingredient—a true way of life still preserved in the mountainous heart of Naxos. Away from the crowds, every meal unfolds slowly, surrounded by nature, silence, and the authentic rhythms of the Naxian landscape.

Our Family Cheeses
A defining pillar of the ELaiolithos dining experience is our exclusive collection of artisanal mountain cheeses.
They are handcrafted by Helen’s brother, Labros Marakis, a fourth-generation cheesemaker from the Naxian highlands. His sheep and goats graze freely on the surrounding slopes right outside our windows, feeding on wild herbs that naturally season the milk. Using traditional, time-honored methods passed down through generations, each cheese reflects the rugged character of the land itself—pure, complex, and unadulterated.
Behind every cheese served at our tables stands a disappearing world of authentic shepherd life, high-altitude mountain traditions, and a family whose daily rhythm still follows the land and the seasons.
To discover the deeper story behind these traditions, read our feature:
The Shepherds of Mountainous Naxos
To take a piece of this heritage home, guests are also welcome to visit our family cheese shop in the historic village of Chalki, located just a short, 5 minute scenic drive from ELaiolithos.

Experiences Beyond the Table
Dining at ELaiolithos extends beyond the meal itself.
Guests may join our terrace cooking classes, where traditional Naxian recipes are prepared while overlooking the island landscape.
Another experience invites guests to visit a nearby local farm, walk through the fields, pick seasonal vegetables, and discover one of the region’s remarkable natural treasures — a 5,000-year-old olive tree that still stands today.
These moments create a deeper connection to the traditions, agriculture, and people shaping life in the Naxian highlands.

An Unmatched Pairing
Our handcrafted cheese and charcuterie platters bring together the people, flavors, and landscape surrounding ELaiolithos on a single plate.
This signature pairing is a celebration of true family synergy. While one brother handcrafts the mountain cheeses, another bottles the local wines, continuing our family’s deep connection to the land through small-scale, traditional production. The olives and extra virgin olive oil come directly from our own groves below—visible from your table—while wild herbs are gathered from the surrounding hillsides.
To complete the experience, our housemade marmalades and traditional rusks are prepared on the premises, shaped by our own culinary creativity and inspired by old island flavors reimagined for today. Even our cherry tomatoes surprise guests with an intense, forgotten sweetness, reminding them how real earth-grown vegetables are truly supposed to taste.
This deep connection shapes our philosophy of circular living. Every organic kitchen leftover is returned daily to our brother’s livestock as feed, and in a natural, zero-waste cycle, the farm supplies us with fresh eggs and wild greens.
Paired with our local wines and enjoyed overlooking the valleys and distant Aegean Sea, this is more than a meal—it is a moment that feels simple, authentic, and somehow magical all at once.
