Pyrgaki beach, located in the SW of Naxos, is the continuation of Alyko beach, 19 Km from the capital and port. Pyrgaki is a long thick sandy beach, with beautiful clean waters with sparkling clear blue color, and one of the most beautiful beaches of Naxos that reflect peace and serenity. Pyrgaki beach is almost always the most quiet hardly ever crowded beach in the SW side of the island. Its surrounding dunes and perennial cedar trees give visitors an exotic impression and bring in mind the Mediterranean coasts of North Africa rather than a typical beach of the Aegean Sea. The Pyrgaki beach has some umbrellas and sunbeds available for rent, a few taverns, and it’s close to many large and organised tourist resorts with accommodation and other facilities. Most of its part though is not organized with any umbrellas or loungers, meaning make sure you bring your own. Access to Pyrgaki beach is made via asphalt road and a 1 Km dirt road in good condition.
