Zero Waste in Practice

At ELaiolithos, zero waste is not an aspiration but a daily practice.

  • Food leftovers are never discarded. They are collected and shared with nearby livestock, creating a circular relationship between hospitality and local agriculture. In return, we receive fresh eggs and vegetables that return to our kitchen and breakfast table.
  • Ingredients are sourced entirely locally, supporting nearby farms and reducing transportation impact while preserving the authentic flavors of Naxos.
  • Textiles and decorative elements are crafted from Greek cotton using traditional loom weaving, supporting local women artisans and preserving regional craft traditions. These handmade pieces add character and authenticity to every suite.

From food preparation to daily operations, the goal is simple: reduce waste, respect resources, and allow the natural rhythm of the island to guide the way we live and host.
